ABOUT THE ARTWORK COLLECTION

I believe in bold design, rich colour, and a powerful narrative. I am inspired by nature, by beauty, and also by art movements: my current paintings are a personal response to the Viennese Succession Movement of 1879, which explored the possibilities of art outside academic traditions, and the Pattern and Decoration movement of the 1970’s and 1980’s, which revitalized scorned “minor art forms.” I begin by applying paint and textures, creating chaotic shapes and marks, and ultimately—and mysteriously—dragonflies and birds emerge as part of the narrative fabric. Out of this process order is finally achieved.
